Q-tip & Mama - Mouse Pad

Q-tip & Mama - Mouse Pad

$19.99

Meet Q-tip — the first calf ever born on our little farm in Ithaca, Michigan — and his mama, Scarlet. This mouse pad puts that real, unposed moment on your desk: pure white fluff, jet-black nose, and a Scottish Highland mama who finally has the look of a cow who knows exactly what she's doing.

The photo is ours. The cows are ours. The story is true.

The story behind the photo

Scarlet is one of our original Highland girls. Smaller than Belle, ginger like the rest, and for a long time she was the stand-offish one — the cow who would take a treat but not a kiss. Then Q-tip happened. He was the very first calf born on the farm, and motherhood flipped a switch in her. She became patient. Watchful. A genuinely good mama.

Q-tip himself is a white Highland steer with a double coat that looks like someone wrapped a cloud around a cotton ball. His dad is Poseidon, our chill white Highland bull. His best bud is Leo, another little guy from the same season. But this design is just the two of them — Q-tip and Scarlet — exactly the way we found them one afternoon in the pasture.

Why a mouse pad?

Because most desks could use a Highland cow on them. This one is a smooth-top cloth mouse pad with a non-slip rubber base, printed edge to edge in full color so the photo actually looks like a photo — not a washed-out reprint. It tracks cleanly with both optical and laser mice and wipes down with a damp cloth when coffee happens (it will happen).

  • Real farm photography — shot here on our 30 acres, not stock
  • Smooth cloth top over a grippy rubber base that stays put
  • Edge-to-edge print in vivid, full color
  • Easy to clean — a quick wipe and it's good
  • Printed in the USA via our print partner (Charlotte, LA, or Dallas)

Who it's for

This one's for the Highland cow people. The folks who follow baby cow accounts, save fluff videos, and have strong opinions about which Highland is the cutest (it's Q-tip — we're biased, we know). It's a soft landing for:

  • Highland cow lovers and Scottish Highland cattle fans
  • The cow person in your life who already has the mug, the sticker, and the magnet
  • Work-from-home setups that need more cute and less beige
  • Office gifts, coworker swaps, and stocking stuffers
  • Mother's Day — because this is, very literally, a mama-and-baby photo
  • Country girls, farmhouse decor fans, cottagecore desks

About Wolf & Steer

We're a small working family farm on a triangle of 30 acres in Ithaca, Michigan — between Lansing and Alma. The Steer half of the name is the herd: Scottish Highlands, Black Dexters, and Mini Moos, thirteen of them at last count. The Wolf half is our two husky-mix siblings, Chase and Everest, who came north with us from Texas and are part of why we're here at all.

We don't keep a warehouse. Every product on the shop is made to order in the USA when you buy it, which means less waste, no overstock, and a real human pulling your order off a press in Charlotte, Los Angeles, or Dallas. It takes a few extra days. We think it's worth it.

Q-tip & Mama, on a mouse pad, on your desk

If you've ever wanted a Highland cow at work without the obvious logistical problems, this is the closest we can get you. Scarlet finally figured out the mom thing. Q-tip is doing great. And now they can keep an eye on your cursor.

Care: spot clean with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash. Keep away from sharp objects and curious goats.
