Q-tip & Mama - Matte Poster 12x16
A real moment between a baby Highland and his mama
This 12x16 matte poster captures one of our favorite scenes on the farm: Q-tip, our pure-white Scottish Highland calf, standing close to his mama, Scarlet. Q-tip was the first calf ever born here at Wolf & Steer, and Scarlet — who used to be the most stand-offish girl in the herd — became a completely different cow the day he arrived. Watching her with him is the kind of thing that makes you stop what you are doing and just look. We pulled out the camera, and this is what we got.
Now you can put that moment on your wall.

Who Q-tip is
Q-tip is a Scottish Highland steer with a thick double coat, a jet-black nose, and the kind of fluff that does not look real until you are standing next to him. He is Scarlet's son and Poseidon's son — Poseidon being our chillest-bull-on-earth white Highland. Q-tip is one of the permanent residents at Wolf & Steer. He is not going anywhere. He has best-bud status with Leo, our little brown mini moo, and the two of them are inseparable across the pasture.
Who Scarlet is
Scarlet is a smaller Scottish Highland girl with deep ginger coloring. Before Q-tip, she kept her distance and was not interested in scratches or treats from anyone. After Q-tip, she turned into one of the best mamas we have. That softening is what this photo holds. If you have ever watched a stubborn animal melt into motherhood, you know exactly what is happening in this frame.

Care & styling
Hang somewhere out of direct sunlight to keep the matte finish looking its best. Pair it with neutral linens, warm woods, woven baskets, or any farmhouse palette. It also looks great clustered with other animal prints — try it next to our Best Buds (Q-tip & Leo) or Barry Rides Belle posters for a full Wolf & Steer wall.
From our farm to your wall
Wolf & Steer is a small working family farm on 30 triangular acres in mid-Michigan. The cattle, the goats, the peacocks (yes, peacocks), and the husky siblings who started it all — every photo on our shop is from here. When you order this poster, a real photo of a real calf and his real mama gets printed in the USA and sent to your door. That is the whole story. Thanks for letting us put a piece of the farm on your wall.
