In this photo he's tucked up nose-to-horn with his mama Belle, a ginger Scottish Highland with the kind of shaggy red coat people drive out to see. She's grazing, calm as always. He's just happy to be near her. We caught the moment on an ordinary afternoon in the pasture here in Ithaca, Michigan, and it turned out to be one of our favorite photos of the whole herd.
