American Highland — Standing Ground | Wolf & Steer

Some cows mosey. Ours plant their hooves and stare you down. The American Highland — Standing Ground tee is our tribute to that kind of quiet stubbornness — the full-body silhouette of a Scottish Highland cow, shaggy coat and horns and all, anchored beneath a weathered, distressed American flag. It's the look of an animal that isn't going anywhere, and neither is the land it stands on.

We drew this one with Belle in mind — our ginger mama cow who runs the pasture on her own schedule. Highlands are the kind of cattle that handle Michigan winters without flinching, and there's something deeply American about that posture: calm, rooted, unbothered. The distressed flag treatment keeps the design from feeling loud. It's patriotic, but in a worn-in, front-porch kind of way.

The shirt itself is a Bella + Canvas 3001 unisex jersey tee — 100% ring-spun cotton, the soft-and-broken-in kind, not the stiff cardboard kind. We print with DTG (direct-to-garment), which lets the ink settle into the weave so the design doesn't sit on top like a sticker. It softens with every wash and keeps its edges. Every shirt is printed to order by our USA print partner after you place it — nothing sits in a warehouse collecting dust. Production runs about 2–5 business days before shipping, which keeps the operation lean and lets us put more time into the animals and less into logistics. If you're ordering for a specific date, build in a little buffer and you'll be fine.
